I recently stayed at a couple hotels in different cities and noticed a stark difference in the details around the appearance of electrical trim. To be fair, one hotel was newer than the other (although the hotel flag of the later often advertises how staying there may make a person smarter…the electrician of the later apparently never stayed at the hotel.) The lesson learned: 1- details mater & 2- a box walk of the outlets prior to drywall install would have prevented the cover plate conflict in the right photo. The new/left is clean and simple. The old/right has different plate cover colors, industrial switches and unaligned/chipped screws, not to mention the cut out corner where the two cover plates overlap. As you might imagine there were plenty of other experiences in the stay of the right hotel that further emphasized I won’t visit it again. #boxwalks #detailsmatter
